Club Connections

How a round works

1. Pick one unsolved team from each column to form a pair.
2. Search for a footballer who played official senior football for both teams.
3. Submit the player and, when the career link is valid, the pair is marked as connected.
4. Continue until you find eight links or reveal the example answers for the day.

What the game checks

A club connection requires verified official senior appearances. Youth teams, reserve sides, contracts without a debut and unsupported associations do not create a valid bridge.

Methodology

The connection checker resolves both selected teams to canonical club identities and then looks for a shared player with an official senior appearance record for each. The same rule is applied to famous transfers and obscure squad players.

Limitations

Club renames, reserve teams, loans without appearances and incomplete older records can create ambiguous associations. The board intentionally excludes youth-only links and rumours, even when a player's name is widely connected with both clubs.

Example

A player associated with both clubs in rumours or training is not enough: the submitted player must have an official first-team career stage for each selected team.

Corrections

If a legitimate senior connection is rejected, report both teams, the player and the relevant senior appearances. Footalara can review the two career stages and add or correct the supporting record.

Tips

• Start with a pair that shares a league, era or plausible transfer route, then use position to narrow the search.
• A valid bridge can be a squad player, goalkeeper or travelling professional, not only a famous star.
